So the import owners think the trailerpark mullets with IROC-Z's are as good as the domestic scene gets because, as I already stated, the import scene is traditionally really dumb.

thats hilarious. this is how i percieve them. even though i started out as a hot rod guy. 74 nova custom hatch.

does no one else agree that the domestics have more recently picked up on turbo's.

like in the last 5 to ten years. before that it was like too hard for them. the engineering part.

hahah . i know they are some of the fastest cars and they got 4 second funny cars and all that.

the only boost you used to ever see on a domestic was a freakin blower stickin out of the hood.

I'm pushing my father to boost his Camaro next year, I hope he will agree to do it. I started by explaining how was working a turbo and how to install it on his car. It's a good start I believe lol

I'm not a carb guru tho, I'll have to learn how it work and how to tune that shit. I'll put a basemap and it's ready to go ;)

What I heard from a domestic drag racer is that turbo is too inconsistent. They can't get the same time after each pass. I don't know if it's true...

Yeah I'm pushing my wallet turbo '82 'stang 5.0l too. ;D

It is much harder.  As the idea in drag racing is simple and repeatable.  As long as you leave the same every time, shift the same etc..  i dont' see why it wouldn't be decently consistent.

Turbo cars do seem to be affected a lot by the swings in ambient air temps, and even more so by heat sink.

turbo + alcohol = :noel:

For what its worth we push most of our customers towards turbo's. We just finished up an 07 gt that made 688 horse and 730 ft lb of torque at 15 ish psi of boost out of a t-70 turbo. I'll put up a video of that one when I get the chance.

The k member is a qa1. We have since put headers on this car but the pipe routing is unchanged.

He has his a/c anything that came on the car is still there and working those were his requests. Even his factory gauges we wired to work with the big stuff 3.

No it did not but we never had the stock manifolds on this car. We had some log manifolds on it and it made just about 800 but the curve was horrible. With the new headers power came up over a 100 horse. The engine even wanted more timing after that and then the power difference became even larger. I think after headers and retune we were up over 200 horse peak and over 300 in the higher rpm.

hmmm the turbo mach i did didnt seem like there was enough room to come up through where the a/c comp was, granted it was a single turbo. maybe there is a big diff in the design of the k member. i was working with stock manifolds also.

The qa1 is one of the most open k members I've seen on any mustang. There is a ton of workable space.

You know we have been told that but drive a car with a qa1 on it and compare it to others. Less squeaks and rattles. Is it as nice as some of the ones rated for road racing no. It was not designed for that but this guy daily drives this car and has daily driven it for years making nothing less than 9 second power since one year after it was bought. No cracks, no issues, no flaws. We've dealt with all of the k members too. This guy has no shit probably close to 30,000 miles on this car with this k member.

OK! That is so damn cool. Do you do any work on older Mustangs? Mine is just a V6 though. She is stil peppy and I am faster that ALOT of cars.

Would I be able to make around 600 horse power? I know I have two less cylinders, so I can't make as much power.

Yes we do alot of work on classics. I just finished up a 485 fe stroker for a customer's fairlane.
I don't doubt we could easily make your goal with the 6 cylinder. What year?

Cool, mine is a 2001. A buddy of mine I met at the car meets told me about wiring open the "butterflys" and that makes a lot of diffenance. I am also about to get a red Spectra cone filter for my intake. I think those mods, with a set of headers and an exhause, I will be into the 12s. It should hold me off until I can afford to turbo.

Damn right those cars are slow as fuck. I put a bus length on one with a z6 in a crx, and to me the crx was slow :P

The biggest problem is the FD on those cars.  The 96-97 V6 cars were comparable to the GTs if they ran the same FD.
