Dude, I'm not a framer but I could have down 100x better then this fuckup. I'm about to sneak out tonight and do a little reframe on 1 wall. Don't like the way the studs look. They have some mold on them and I ain't about to stuff that behind my sheetrock.

Okay, so let me see if I can get my timeliness right. A lot of progress in 1 weeks time.

Friday 7th of April,
Roofers finished
Rough in plumbing started
Tubs and showers installed

Sat April 8th
All exterior sheeting finished
Garage door opening size was fixed (opening was framed to tall)
French doors installed
Clean up the building site and organized the outside piles

Monday April 10th
Windows installed
More plumbing

Tuesday April 12th
Rough in Plumbing finished

Wednesday April 12th
Hvac installed and finished
Siding delivered
Interior framing finished(vaulted ceiling upper wall tie in to ceiling)

Thursday April 13th
Front door and the door from the house to the garage delivered
All the wood piles out in front of the house completely gone through and organized.

That's it for now. Will update later with another post. Siding should start today after the doors are installed and then I can get some fans rolling in the house to get it dried up in there.

Rough in wiring done, larger than normal breaker box intalled, larger outside meter box installed, hvac fans installed, window insulation in, all external holes/gaps where wires pass through the walls to exterior sealed up or plugged, exterior walls caulked where they meet the floor along with all the corners (makes the house air tight and more efficient) and siding has been started. On to the pics

She's coming together! Mind if I ask what you're spending on the build? And are you doing a buy and build type loan or are you just throwing the green around?

April 24th
Dump run done. All the trash from our whole build only cost me $55 to dispose of it.
Btw here is my free truck that was given to me
93 f150, straight 6, 5 speed 4wd.

April 31st
Mechanical, plumbing and framing insections. Passed mechanical, failed framing and plumbing.

Plumbing was failed because the water line to the gauge was not turned on so it reads zero....lol

5 small things with framing.

2 brace boards across 2 roof trusses  were not installed

1 hole that was drilled for plumbing was abandoned and was not filled with the fire foam

Moisture in the wood was still too high

And there was 1 missing hurricane clip for the trusses in the garage.

Saturday May 1st
cleaned the entire inside of the house floor. Disposed of all the trash inside the house.

Sunday May 2nd.
Set our post at the top of our driveway for our gate. The boy helped me do work.

Now it's Friday the 5th of May
Dirt work is getting finished up, siding is done(except for wraping the posts) garage concrete was poured today.

Tomorrow I'm renting a ditch digger and I'm going to trench a line from our temporary power pole to our house and drop my conduit in it, also trenching for water supply line and a trench all the way up the side of the driveway to drop in some direct burrial wire for power for our gate lights and the motor for our gate.

Power company will install permanent power next week and I need to talk with the phone company about getting there lines brought into our house so I can have some internet.

What's the size of the garage? My dad built himself a big ass shop a while ago and picked up a used 2 post lift from a guy for $2500 I think. So jealous of that thing. Life goals.

Garage is pretty small. Just 22x22. It will host a parking space for my nova and for my wife's car.

So last Saturday I rented a ditch digger. Last time I do that. Big waste of money. In this soft sand all it seemed to do was sink itself and I had to dig it out. So I dug all our trenches by hand. One was 25' and the other was 35'.

Then on Sunday we set shit on fire and put a fan on it to vaporize it. There was next to no ash or anything left. Fan+fire=Good! Hooked up my water line on Sunday so now we have water to the house.

Monday I wired the whole house for coaxle cable and cat6 wire. Our builder wanted $75 for each line for each room. Told them to get fucked.

Wednesday May 10th morning, power company called and asked if I was ready for hookup. Told them yes, they showed up and and called me a hour later and told me that I needed to move my conduit over 3'. Which means I had to dig out my conduit and dig a new trench next to it and lay it in there. FML!! So I did, he called Thursday and said he would be out in the afternoon to lay the wire. He showed up and used up all his wire for hos last job. So he said he would be out Friday. Called Friday morning and said it got bumped to Monday the 15th because of some power outages or something. So on Saturday 13th I build 17 vent wells to keep the dirt and water from making it's way in through our foundation vents. Going to install them on Monday. Anyways onto the pics

Oh forgot, Wednesday the 10th the put the garage door in.

So power was hooked up yesterday the 15th. Was told insulation would be in today. Well turns out that's next Tuesday. So the weather is suppose to get nice this week so were going to paint out fascia trim so we can get our gutters installed and hopefully get the puddeling around our house gone.

Sunday may 21st. My wife and i Got all the fascia where the gutters go painted. Just backed the truck up and stood in the bed like it was a mobile scaffolding unit. Worked great.

Monday May  22nd and did in our insulation. They didn't do the normal bats of insulation that I was expecting. They stappled some sort of breathable cloth sheathing down and blew all of our insulation in. Turned out killer.

Wednesday May 25th they did the resinspection for everything and we passed. Also had gutters and downspout put in.

Sunday May 28th. Got all the windows/doors taped off and ready for paint. Wife and I painted the fascia that were the peaks(where gutters don't run)

Monday May 29th. Here I am, sitting in the porta potty writing this post. I just got done priming all of our eves and now I'm getting ready to shoot some paint on the body of the house. I'll post pics tonight.

Well I got about 2/3rds the body of the house sprayed. Then the fucking sprayer I was borrowing died. Has a short I  it or something. It keeps blowing the breaker. Didn't have any torx screw drivers with me to take it apart to see what's up. My cousin is goo g to come up tomorrow with his airless and knock out some work.

Anyways, here is where it died

Thanks, cousin came up and knocked out some work. Here it was at the end of yesterday after waiting for the rain showers to pass.

Have a ton of trim work to do now. Also have to paint the Dormer/doghouse on the roof and then we're done with the outside paint.

June 10th
Started on the front porch deck today. Its 8' wide and 6' deep

Also started on the rear deck. It's 16' wide and 12' deep and it's covered. Because it rains 8 months out of the year here.

Setting up the ledger flashing was kinda tricky. Started off by cutting the siding with my worm drive and only cutting through the siding about 3/4 of the way, while trying not to cut the vapor barrier behind it. Then Just snapped the hardie siding.

Set a z flashing at the bottom, then rolled out my dynamat, I mean peel and stick aluminum backed flashing. Then I slid my ledger flashing up under the top of the siding.

Once my ledger was tacked into place I made sure to use a piece if 2x6 to make sure it was nice and tight against my door sill. Checked it for level and once I had it set I just tacked it in place with some nails. Once it was all good I used some gsk 4" torx bolts and rocked them down with my impact driver.

Then I set my outside joists. Once all level I used the same bolts. And ran it down tight. Now I need dig down to set my pier blocks in place and dropped the adjustable saddle in place and crank the nut until they move the beam up to the bottom of the joists. Then just pull my layout for the rest of the joists, bolt down the ledger the rest of the way and start laying down joists. Hope to get to that tomorrow.

Anyways, onto the pics

Front

Rear deck

In this picture I have the outer rim already set but that was just to check to see if everything was plumb and level. I'm going to pull it off to set my beam.

Finished up the front porch/deck today(June 12th 2017) Besides the step, but I waiting to get my 50 yards of gravel spred and rolled before I set my step in. Hurt my back today. Pretty surr its just a pulled muscle. Just need to take it easy for the week and I'm sure I'll be fine. So it was real slow going today.  Felt like forever just to move around.

It's dirty here but you get the idea....

Had a meeting with our foreman on Tuesday the 13th. Kinda got a timeline dialed in and it looks as if move in date was suppose to be around the 20th of july as long as everything went smooth. Well it didn't. Sheetrocker is fixing a bunch of shit b4 doing the rock work because our first framer was a flake and fucked all kinds if shit up that nobody caught. So sheet rock won't be done until the 30th. A week later. So we won't be moving in until the end of July.

Anyways onto our work.....

Sister and her boyfriend showed up Saturday June 17th, I was having 50 yards of 3/4" basalt crushed rock delivered. Along with a cat 257 skid steer and a 5 ton roller. We knocked it all about in about 8 hours. My sister is a fucking pump when it comes to running machinery. She is a union operator by trade. She did this job 100x better then I would have ever done.

Sunday June 18th

Went to home depot and picked up a bunch of landscape stuff, plants flowers ect...
Cleaned up and condensed our piles of trash and scrap wood.

Monday June 19th

Did a dump run, picked up 2 yards of top soil, planted all our plants and spread the compost in the backyard so we can get ready to spread grass seed.

Thursday the 22nd,
Sheetrocker text me in the morning letting me know he was at our house until 10pm on Wednesday trying to feather and fir out or ceiling so the sheetrock didn't look like shit. Canceled the inspection because he's not done hanging rock. Scheduled inspection for Wednesday june 28th now. So now were another week out. Went and got 2 more yards of compost to spread in the yard. Then called it a day. In light of the extra time, we're taking this weekend off and gonna go fuck around at the water park since it's suppose to be in the 90's this weekend.

Well our sheetrock inspection was yesterday, we failed it due to the fact that it wasn't finished. I spoke with our sheetrocker yesterday afternoon any told me that he was just too busy fixing all of the fuck ups and wasn't able to finish in time. We have another inspection set for tomorrow June 30th and he'll be done with everything by then. I'm appreciative of everything he's doing because our sheetrock is going to be dead nuts. He's fixing a lot of the framing issues we had with the first framer that would show in the sheetrock

So where do I start with this fucking shit show of a house build?

June 30th
we had a reinspection for sheetrock. Troy, our sheetrock hanger ended up running out of time, so he just hung the rock for inspection. We passed. He then pulled a bunch of it back down to he could correct the draining fuck ups. He ended up finishing that night and all was good.

July 6th
Mut and tape guy shows up(no work done from the 1st-6th says everything will be completed by the following Thursday the 13th) by now I'm use to shit just sitting stagnant. On July 5th I emailed my lender and freaked out. Told them this has been the worst build ive ever wirked with and i will never recomend this company hiline homes. As of April 30th, the only things that have been done were. Garage door install (3 or 4 hours of work), insulation installed in walls and crawl space(6 hours of work) and we have had our sheetrock hung (40 hours of work with out all the framing corrections). So in 70 days we've had about 50 hours worth of work done. It cost us $82 a day to operate this build site.

Monday July 10th.

I finish setting all the rear deck joist and blocking them in. I Set my rim and now all I have to do is screw my deck boards down and trim it out.

Tuesday the 11th. Mud and tape guys asked if the furnace works. Said idk, try to start it and no luck. Tells me he needs it to dry all the mud for the corner beads. Talk with project manager, tells me he's on his way out @ 430pm to take a look at it. Dude never shows.

Wednesday the 12th
I get a hold of the mud and tape guy Greg and tell him I'm going to go rent some heaters. He tells me don't worry about it, it's to late and because no heat we have to wait for shit to dry. My plan was to have my wife and i lait everythi g this weekend. We had child care Set up and everything. Well now we're told it will be done Monday. My wife looses her shit and goes down to the office and about choked the sales guy out. We have a huge communication issues with this company. Wednesday I left voice mails and text for our project manager and no response from him. Needless to say I'm fucking just bummed out.

Thursday 13th
I go out check progress, going to start working on my back deck boards and low and behold my fucking tool belt is missing. Pretty sure someone swiped it. Not to big of a deal, only about $200 in hand tools. But the real kick in the dick is that I've had my hammer 15 years and build 10 houses with it. It was worn in just right. And my 12" old school crescent wrench(that was my grandfathers) is missing too and it's only one of a couple off tool I have of his. And he's no longer around.

Moral of the story, this week and lick my assume and suck my balls!!
