Car is running great in the garage, we just got 6 inches of snow again, but I'm a couple grand away from driving it.

dvst8r tracked me down VIA ls1tech, hooked me up with a link.

Now I'd just like to get my join date and my post count corrected to my old username. This one is more fitting now.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate you guys wanting to see the car :)

It could stop last year, had 12" rotors all around. But it was Camaro rear calipers with Circle track sprint car calipers up front. Kinda pieced together setup. 1976 impala rotor/hubs. So this way I can replace the rotor without touching the hubs, over the counter parts from GM, and a solid setup. I also did a junkyard hydraboost setup years ago on the car, still on it and working awesome. No vaccum bullshit to worry about.

Yes the car is a 72 with 71 park lights. I dislike the solid amber park lights.

Check at the top I added a spec list.

I have no ripper vids or real progress. School nets me no money. But I am ordering some parts tomorrow to finish up the front end. Ball joints, LCA's, coil overs, steering arms, and jounce bumps.

Relocated the coils, will have new plug wires tomorrow, I'll take some pics and a vid of the bitch running.

Thanks for all the comments guys!!!

Coilovers are in the mail, tubular lower control arms, Howe ball joints, and then install the front end. in 2 weeks I'll be ordering 2 18" rims for the front, 4 tires, meth kit and a shift kit. Woo hoo!!

Got some good and bad news.

The good:

Hallman in cab boost controller is installed
AEM progressive meth kit is installed
All front suspension work and brakes installed/blead
Tires bought
Shift kit goes in, in approx 12 days.

The bad:

Have to wait on new coils for the coilovers, spring rate is too soft
Retard with my rims, marked them as pool parts, and undervalued them. They got caught at customs in a random inspection. Looking at rims and reading pool parts doesn't add up. Along with the value. Retard I bought the rims from never told me he was going to pull a stunt like that, nor did I ask him too. Fuck brain. Sooo 9 day wait now.

Here are some pictures.

same rim painted black?

shit looks good black though

essentially...

factory z06 corvettes come staggered 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. Minimum I can run in the front now is 18. So I had to get a repo 18x9.5. They are dirt cheap in black so I went with them. I'll get my other ones coated later on. But for now I'm going to rock front black and rear gunmetal  O0 True gangsta

So I drove it tonight. On 7lbs it feels faster then it was on 15lbs lol. roll in 2nd gear at 80km/h, no issues skating around. 3rd gear, same story.

Then my night ended on a flat bed home. Ignition part in the column broke. Some pot metal piece of shit. Sooo parents felt bad for no birthday present for the past 2 years and overnighted me a ididit stainless column.

Pics/vids to come.

Solid rig brother!!!!

Column should be here tomorrow.

Yes it was with the new cam. Sounds horny. I'll get video for sure. Tomorrow night I'm off to edmonton to take the ecu and get the new tune dumped on it. Upgraded timing tables, increase injector recovery rate on decel in idle, increase rev limiter, and increase idle air. Along with some minor touch ups.

can you go into more detail? Iam unsure what this does? cheers

Theres a name for it. But what is happening. Is when I roll up to a red light, stop sign or stop. The idle drops down to where it should idle, and the injectors are not squirting fast enough to save the idle. How it was explained to me was you can adjust how fast the injectors react, the slower the rate, the more linear, the fast, the less linear. So theres a fine line. This problem is also associated with too much cam and not enough idle air flow. So all this should hopefully be fixed tonight.

On that note... FUCK Summit Racing. I payed for 1-2 day freight. Not lets let the column sit around for a day, package it and ship it out at 5 the NEXT fucking day. So monday it is. Fox Creek. Retards.

A buddy of mine owns Horsepower Solutions. He tuned it for me.

Stock long block.... I'd keep it tame around the 450rwhp range. Put rod bolts and valve springs in and turn it up to low 500's.

Remember.... My kit at 7psi last year made 475rwhp and 67xftlbs!!!

Here are some pics guys. Boost gauge isn't reading right or something. 11psi spring in the synapse gate, yet I only see 6psi on the gauge. Plumbed from gauge to intake. Perhaps my problem???

Doo it!

Thanks for the comments guys. Kinda getting tired of the no traction issues so I'm pricing out Strange SS series drag brakes for the rear. Going to a 15x10 beadlock drag wheel with a drag radial. Goin 10.5 style with the car.

so I'm alive. Life is busy. But....

The car went 11.25@129 last night. 1.9 60foot haha. Stock torque converter on bald 18" drag radials.

Tranny is finally shitting the bed after 4 years of abuse on a bone stock 4l80 out of a pickmeup truck.

Gonna toss a 3400 or 3600 stall in it over winter, 10.5" slicks on 15" beadlocks, build the tranny, and new valve springs.  trying to get some pics and video uploaded.

how does that turbo spool? i am trying to pick a turbo for a v8 and i am lost. i am thinking single turbo on the smaller side for a chevy 350 cause it will be for a truck to tow my racecar.

I love and hate this car all at the same time. Engine/suspension/brakes/car is pure tits.

The crappy megan seats and the defis do not fit the car one bit.

Just my $.02. Also, not much of a fan of the wheels either.

I would do the t3/t4 turbo from a t-bid manual trans. There available and work well on lower boost applications and the spool fairly quick.
 .60 intake
 .63 exhaust

Thats perfectly fine. Thats why there are so many other companies on the market. To please people such as yourself and myself. I think the wheels go great on the car. If I had some more coin the wheels would be powder coated black in the rear aswell. But I roll based on my paychecks. Not a visa with an unreal limit.

your absolutely right. cragers amongst many other 60-70's era wheels can be had for pretty cheap. I think I paid like $200 for a set of craigers that needed some polish at a swap meet. and I know you could probably have 2 full panels of NICE autometers for the price of those defis/sensors. And the seats...some factory buckets would suit me.

again, I love your car, just those few little things that bug me.

T-bird didnt come with a t3/t4 hybrid.  In fact, no car came with that hybrid turbo period.  The Garrett turbo that came on the tbird was a 60trim t3.

To each their own. I think it looks deadly with the black wheels and massive brakes behind them. Fucking cookie cutter Boyds, American Racing, etc etc. If I had the budget they would be Forged race line of wheels. But at 1500 a wheel minus rubber.... No thanks.

I will swing by. I know a couple employees. But the transmission is only good for cruising and minor bag session. Dyno's sketch me out when its a strictly horsepower only setup especially with it on the way out. No computer to tell me what my line pressures are doing or slip = not cool.

We've run stock stalls rebuilt and they usually net 20% slip on the top end. I'll pay the cash for a Neal Chance converter. Built around my car and my engine setup.

On a buddies twin turbo ls mustang, a off the shelf stall was 19% slip on the top end. 9.8@144 if I remember right. With the new converter from Neal Chance the car went 9.52@148. Pretty nice gains for changing nothing else and 6-8% slip on the top.

Have to be there and run the stuff to know I guess. A stock restalled stall will not take you to 8's. It will drive like complete and utter shit on the road. Have any of you guys drove in a vehicle with a neal chance or other high end converter? They drive like a completely stock stall, until you lay into it. Not this high revving bullshit to drive around. Thats left for relic, cockaroach machines.

All it does is blow through the converter worse. Running through the traps at 6800rpm in a LS is up there on a stock junkyard build 6.0l. Traps do not change one bit with more boost.

I gues i still am doing the cheap setup home made turbo style. I will step up this time and let some else build my trans only because i want overdrive. I dont feel to comfortable with doing the 700r4/4l60e  i have done 2 and they worked but i had issues with the seals and drum springs. Can get a bilt 700r4/4l60e from a  company for 1300 with 2400 stall converter and he boastes it will hold up to some serious power.

cadracer,

If you are going to be racing I would not sell you a Level 2 you need a Level 3.  Our Level 3 700R4, with torque converter up to 2400 stall (no nitrous use) shipping to you in WA to any business address dyno tested and in a real nice crate is $1350.  Call us so we can discuss your application in more detail.

Remember the transmission is only as good as the builder, even if you are using all top of the line components. There is a lot more than just exchanging parts when remanufacturing a transmission. I have been rebuilding high performance, racing and daily driver transmissions for over 26 years and I am a man with integrity. One thing for sure, you will not be disappointed. I am always available to provide technical assistance to help ensure that we setup the right transmission and torque converter for your application.

We build bulletproof transmissions! It is critical that we know how you are running your vehicle and the needs you have for your application. If you're running nitrous, superchargers or turbo-chargers, please be sure to give us this information. We cannot setup the right transmission for your application without this information.

or i will just put in this manual 6 speed trans

This is what I like about slushomagics.  You really can build one that will hold a million fucking horsepower and actually have it last (probably longer than the motor).

Yes.  I have an 8" converter in my mustang, ordered as a 4k stall, goes to 5k on the TB.  but driving around town, and on the highway it sits in the 25-3500 range cruising nicely even with 4.56's.... till you wack it. ;)  Its a good feeling.

th400 is parasitic overkill for a k24, a 350 or a 475 will take care of that power level no problem

TH350 will keel over past 600-650, unless you're replacing the internals with $$$.

I'm really not worried about sub-50 whp parasitic loss.

yeah i would have to agree on the t-400  instead of the 350 stouter internals. Also i would use a 3600 to 4k stall  because boost will drive it to probably 5. Look into a trans break valve body you will wish you had it after the fact i am.

Well, you take a Honda K24 and bolt a turbo and a TH400 to it.  I've got the tune part down, but IDK anything about stalls.  Help pls.

Where do you expect the motor to start making a shit load of tq at???  Insert stall speed... Higher tq will raise stall of a said converters rating a bit..  TH400 with 8" 4500 stall converter and reverse manual valvebody with brake please... If its gonna be driven on the street I wouldnt go any higher...  SHould be interesting when it locks up a bit... HAHAHAHHA  In a car that light??? OOOOHHHH MMMMMMMM GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Well, where does it make power?? and more importantly as has been pointed out.. torque?? stall speed is affected by the power you have and don't have. It is also possible have a converter out of the power band (on either side) and it will be lazy. I'd say you want it just on the verge of where it really starts to build power, but have enough stall so that it can actually build boost without moving the car.  It's a lot different than a clutch, and you no longer need(or have) inertia to as great of an extent.  say for example when you shift, what is the lowest in the rpm band you would like the car to go? that is probably close to your desired stall speed.

[also if you're having a converter built, i'd like it to have an anti-ballooning plate, and a to a lesser extent a billet cover(which is actually the back) would do wonders in helping it not explode.]

There aren't many AWD vehicles that are as fast in a straight line or on a road course unless you have R34 or 911TT money.  The Subaru shit would simply fall apart under the abuse with LSx torque thrown into the mix, so why bother?  A correctly set up aluminum block LSx Scooby would fucking flay the flat four failures, and be cheaper too.

i realize the stock awd setup would be total fail with LSx power, but living in the asshole of the universe where we generally get fuckloads of snow for what seems like half a year, AWD is more appealing... i also realize it would have to be custom parts, (as if the LSx isnt) but from what i read there is no room at all no matter what you have...

A pair of 67mm's, I like where this new build is headed! I assume with those you are shooting for 4 digit power. I really need to make it up to Red Deer this year to see this in person, I am moving an hour's drive closer though in a couple weeks (from okotoks, to airdrie).

Run it semi hard for the year, and then near the end probably put an ad in the for sale section titled "Yard Sale" and I will list whatever I chuck out of the stock block hahha

Kill mode? I prefer to call it |yard sale mode"

We are shooting for 8xxrwhp. Who knows. Its been done. I was in the 650 mark last year on 11-14lbs on the 76mm. Had false knock all year though, even on race gas.

honestly efi llive or hp tuners for anything under 1000rwhp.

motron 60lb injectors. 400 beans. Plug and playISH. 40 bucks for ls1 car injector plugs and some 3/8" hard line to space the fuel rails 1/2" up.

There are ways to rescale the MAF in order to make more than 1000 whp.

yea IE run speed density O0 sy/ty IAT sensor wired into factory maf wiring. 2 bar / 3 bar map up top. Done.

Thats what I did. Thats what many guys do aswell. I follow what works well.

Operating from a Ford-based perspective, and having no GM experience beyond OBD1, that's not what I was thinking.  But it is probably the best method for that application.

We ls guys up in Canada like tuning SD more so then MAF. Yes you can get away with the MAF but it is soo much simpler. 2 less clamps, easier piping, etc etc. Along with MAF can act up. Even N/A I had issues with my MAF getting wet in rain and making the car run like shit. (I run no inner fenders)

the 4l60 isn't much of a tranny to be honest. I would put a transgo HD2 kit in it before I drove it boosted. Thats the downfall. 4l60s are expensive to build to handle abuse aswell. :(

Got the rear end out. Gonna wash it, weld the axle tubes, cut the ends off, put c clip elims on. get those pressed onto the moser axles. Put new 5/8 wheel studs in, paint it. Slam it back in. Wait for brakes to sell then buy new ones.

Got my rims back from powder coat. Mounting new drag radials 275/60/15.

Sounds slightly hypocritical but it isn't. A 10" wide rim allows the widest possible footprint available when running a 275/60/15 tire. 8" Works, and it works well but you gain more contact patch with the added 2 inches.

why would a wider rim make a wider contact patch? would that be all on the tire? a 275 is 275 mm wide regarless of what rim its one isnt it?   Not trying to argue just tryin to understand.
Title: Re: The Turbo Chevelle. Some new parts
Post by: 98redcavz24 on February 24, 2010, 08:55:19 PM
I think what he MIGHT be saying is that the wider rims allows for more surface footprint where as a less diameter rim would cause the tire to lose that X mm amount due to slack that is left around the sidewall. In other words, just because the tire measures xxx mm in diameter, you are not necessarily taking advantage of the size unless you have the rim width to do so

Redcav is correct. on a 8" rim you lose footprint because the rim being narrower is actually pulling tread around the side to try and turn it into sidewall now. With the 10" wide rim, it is pulling the sidewalls as far apart as safely possible(Mickey Thompson tech) thus creating more footprint width. This setup us about the most true and most stable way of getting the full footprint of your tire  O0

Big slicks in general are a crutch. For people that throw a set of ladder bars or comp engineering 4 link kit into the car and think that it will work great with a big tire. Where fact is, A honest and thought out suspension setup based from factory stuff WORKS. Leaf spring Camaros...Cal tracs goin deep 8s. factory 4 link cars such as my chevelle? Johnny joints, rubber bushings, heim joints, anti roll bar, and drag shocks. DONE. It works. deep 8's aswell.

Plus some people just love it for some reason.

My fathers friend has a 68 Camaro. aftermarket 4 link, full tub with matching goodyear slicks, lumpy ass big block 50Xci. Race gas, trans brake, massive stall, can't afford to street drive it but does. Solid lifters so adjusting the valves every other cruise.(not quite but close). Everyone thinks its a bad mother fucker. They play it off as if it is. But when it comes down to things... The car runs 12.5's. WTF? I foot brake a 11.2 with a stock tranny/converter LOL

Got one manifold comleted. Both flanges got machined flat so no leak issues. Got my wilwood rear brakes today. They will go on this weekend me thinks. Rear fender lips trimmed off(tire clearance). Water line/steam pocket line kit installed. Fuel cell mounted, fuel fittings on order, and some other shit.

Pictures are way cooler then typing.

I like the setup alot, and I love the look of it all, but the only thing that I dont really car for is how the dump on the wg points at the front tire. I dont think it will cause any problems but if it were my car and with my luck I would burn a little oil and shoot it all over my front tires tread and crash.

Other than that I love this buid. V8+boost= teh Sex!

I should grab another pic aswell. Its not nearly as bad as the pic makes it out to be. I like turn downs but it makes a fuck of a mess doing street pulls. Its a street cleaner, and it also is a huge heat score for doing any type of pull with potential people behind me. I should just put horns on it. lol

Funny you mention that, I ended up changing it, there was just too much weight way out on the gate and dump off the manifold. Slightly changed. I fnished up both manifolds tonight with gates and gate dumps. Only thing I'm not happy about, but I will change it next winter....The drivers side head is further back then the passenger side, so the identical length manifolds make one turbo sit more forward then the other. Ohwell. Minor detail.

Drove it out of the garage last night, sounds pretty nasty with the dumps hahah. Now off to get the intercooler piping done. And yes I have a cable to tie up lol

Lots, its a really good friends of mine. It went 9.25@147 on the 2nd pass out.

I still havn't hooked up my boost controller yet so I'm still on 8lbs. He is on 12-14 when I raced him. Its a fully built 370. Ported heads by an unreal guy in edmonton(all of his all motor, pump gas cars are low 9 second High 8 second jerico shifted cars). We tugged atleast 8 times, 8 lbs to 8lbs they are pretty fucking close, skating around I stay with him or pull on him, and when his is hooked on higher boost it pulls away hard like it should lol. We will be going for 8s in his car after the long weekend.

Only way to roll. Why in the fuck would I narrow my frame to mini tub it? big tires are fucking lame. Does my car have a cage? Does it lack lots of stuff? Yup. Is there a 275 class anywhere near me? Nope.

Call it what you want but big tires are for faggets and I support the 275 class 100%.

The boss' 275X car was built to be an 8.5" Outlaw.  He'll be at the import vs domestic shootout with it, and the Civic.

The only thing we have tubbed with big tires - currently - is the S2000 powered '71 Datsun.  Would you like the shop number so you can tell him he's a faggot?

what are you trying to convey here? I think that its way more fun/cool to get a car in the 6-7s on a small tire then it is a huge relic tire.

I've told many people that own big tire cars that knock small tire cars what I think about it. Next time you are playing around with your race team, weigh a 10.5 slick and your relic 33" slick. Do the rotating mass calculations to see how much is on the table. Maybe stop by a chassis setup school to learn how to set the car up on a smaller tire.

What I was trying to say is that you have an awful lot of hate for something that simply works, while simultaneously bandwagoning the hot affordable DR class without participating in it.  It's kind of like saying you hate Mazdas (#1 most roadraced chassis) while building a spec racer by the rulebook that you'll never compete on a road course with.  Me, personally, i just like cars.   :-\

How are you controlling your power so that you can hook on that 275 tire, anyway?  Goforth's cut some 5.6@126-128 with a 1.2 60' on that tire in an 1100 whp 3200lb chassis, he'd do a lot better if he had a 7135 box.

Just because theres a big tire doesn't mean its always fast. I street drive my car more then your boss does, nor do I have the pocket book of his. I want to get it done ona  275 tire that also happens to be affordable to. Even if I had the money I would not be a big tire car. For the racing here, I'm stock suspemsion, stock frame. Thus no added points. Thanks!

MSD boost controller. Works great. Map my progressive ramp rate. done.

I know you ran this weekend. I saw your buddy with the zephyr doing his licencing pass's on Saturday night, and I saw your car when I was on the road out. I was riding passenger or I would have swung back in and said hi.

Zephyar is now a consistant 8.70 car @ 155ish mph haha. The thing is a monster dumpin the laundry out back each pass now LOL.

I managed a 10.90@126 on 8-9ish lbs of boost. Having issues with the boostcontroller, got it sorted, then got booted for the year with no cage hahaha.

I thought maybe you had died with the lack of updates.  :P

Guess you better get a cage in that bitch. My big tire "faggotry" will probably get on the dyno around xmas, and goto phoenix for the races in March.

Not a car nor really for street. I will still be able to be tagged if we so desire, but the filled block might not like to cruise around so much.

The name makes a person think the event is something else. There was a blown chevy truck, blue going high 6's last year.

Sweet, we won't be that fast. Not enough motor or chassis.

So what did you run when they kicked you off the track?

Bump.

I know you ran this weekend. I saw your buddy with the zephyr doing his licencing pass's on Saturday night, and I saw your car when I was on the road out. I was riding passenger or I would have swung back in and said hi.

I know the zephyr hit the 8's, how did you fair?

Zephyar is now a consistant 8.70 car @ 155ish mph haha. The thing is a monster dumpin the laundry out back each pass now LOL.

I managed a 10.90@126 on 8-9ish lbs of boost. Having issues with the boostcontroller, got it sorted, then got booted for the year with no cage hahaha.

Thing is freaken moving!

It was bullshit, I went 10.90@126mph one friday night, the next sunday was our event(albertas fastest street car shootout), the tech said, "last friday you went too fast twice, youre done for the year"

So I was choked, No warning at all. Follow your own fucking rules first, GOOF.

Welll Im still alive. Here are some updated pics. This piece of shiat went 9.55@144 on 17psi. 1.64 60'.

Still abusing the crap out of it. Had to rebuild the precision turbos as they were using oil. Alamo Turbos did a kick ass job. Flawless so far! Installed a PTC 9.5" converter. Best 1100 spent on this car ever.

All twin turbo cars in this pic...

Good to see your still around. You still in Red Deer? One of these days we will have to grab a beer.  O0

I saw Neil out at the track a number of times this summer, but I didn't see your Chevelle, that I can recall.

Im living in Red Deer on my days off and in Edmonton while Im working out in RedWater.

The Chevelle hasn't been to Castrol yet. Im thinking next Friday. Have to do IHRA licensing passes though before I run it out harder. Kinda gay, ohwell.

Yea Neil has been out a fair bit, still trying to sort the car out. Too much weight in the rear. Car just wants to power wheelie all of the time.. Hasn't got his 7second pass on Canadian soil yet :(. 7.54 in vegas though!

Yeah I was out there with "boostedwagon" from here with his civic a few Friday's ago when Neil went 8.0x at Castrol. So close yet so far.

Are you welding out by Redwater? Mostly just drilling out that way as far as I know of.

Theres a couple kick ass turbo civics around this area. Neil did a dyno day and there was 3-4 well over 500fwhp. Last Friday a pretty nasty integra was there trapping 129mph if I remember right.

Im inspecting at the Williams/Pembina Plant. We are wrapping up an expansion and getting ready for the next one. In a 1km radius its nuts here. North West Upgrader put a call out for 2500 tradesman for their expansion which is within a km of our plant.

Ive played with horsepower calculators verifying how accurate they are... the most out I have seen is 50hp.

@3900lbs race weight and going 144mph its telling me 957 which is on 17psi, 16.5 degree timing, 50/50 race c16/pump as I never had a lap top or desire to look at the air fuel gauge hahah. I data logged one pass at the end of the night and we saw 11.3-11.5

OK long and short....

A-1 Transmission out of Vancouver Washington sucks donkey dick. They soaked me for 3k for a TH400. yea it had billet shiny parts inside but they were all machined way the fuck wrong, installed a valve body that worked but had a severe high gear leak, it was killing clutches, bearings, etc. Tolerances were too tight in some places and too sloppy in others... Hutch Transmissions in Ontario fixed me up. I was out that way for work and was able to swing by and spend some time with him too!!

So with that said... there was a massive restriction in the transmission from eating material. Some is to do with inside the trans, others is when the trans was slowly killing itself it was also plugging up the transmission cooler. Which in turn pushed the converter into the crank resulting in wiping the thrust bearings out on my 150km new engine! (LS3 crank, k1 rods, weisco pistons)

It gets better.... the crank made love to the mains.

Oh wait it gets better... That LS3 crank...

Soooo now the new build started.

K1 forged crank, k1 rods, weisco pistons. Now Im gonna lean on it, magna fuel 4303 fuel pump, etc. 1k or Ill hang myself. #sleddeckproblems #berta!

New TH400 from Hutch Transmissions.

So then I also bought a 58 Apache off of my sister.. Wanted to LS swap it so I decided to use the old smoking 6.0l from chevelle. Was going to knob hone and re ring it, until I found this...

So naturally I found another piston... gapped the rings, honed the cylinder(#7) and now its ready to go in. I also sent my billet 76 to get converted to a billet 84... while they pulled the billet 76 wheel off I had them put that wheel on a cast race cover 76mm which will now go on the apache. lol

I also built a 9" for it, dutchman 35spline axles, mini spool and I think 3:50 gears. Summit disc brake kit.

A cool picture of the chevelle 6.0l(red valve covers), apache engine(middle) and a spare 5.3

Shitty luck man. I would be so pissed but I'm sure they put the blame on something you did ::) Fucking niggers. Onto bigger and better things. Hope the new setup works out for you. Still a cool fucking build.

Oh yea, they wouldn't admit to fuck all but as soon as Hutch went through it with me it was evident. Hutch spent 5 hours pumping fluid into the valve body trying to convince himself he wasn't the fucking moron. He called me later on and said my valve body was a butchered pile of shit and it is now located in the trash can hahaha. His support/knowledge is killer. The REALLY shitty part is when I first switched to a th400 it was hutch or a-1(friends suggestion), well I made the mistake and am paying for it! Live and learn.

Great to hear you're still around & still have the Chevelle. That really sucks about the tranny issue, I just hope the guy I used years ago is still working on them. He worked 16+ hrs a day on trannies for 9 months, then he'd take 3 months off.

Your car is practically the model I'd like my bird to live up to, going a little bit at a time. I think I can write-off a lot of the upgrades since it will be a combination show car & test bed for injectors.

My brother in law had a cumminGs with a smarty and toes 10k daily on 35's and flipped up tow mirrors. His trans went out at 150,000km, guy in Calgary built him a trans that would hold "1500 hp" lasted two Weeks, he went threw it again and it lasted three weeks, (keep in mind he works 10 hour days at 100 bucks an hour, 7 days a week and now can't work) then he was told he towed too heavy and to fuck off. Guys 300 pounds and benches 400 lbs like its the bar. I don't understand shit like that. I'd rather go broke then push shit out my shops door.

This cock roach went 8.79@154 on 23psi and 16 degrees of timing, 4th pass of its life with this setup.

I'll get more aggressive with the boost ramp and front half of the track this year. Also need to adjust some things like the diff and would like to put new shocks in it.

1.31 60'. Would like to see 1.2x

heres a low 9 second run

https://youtu.be/pHiLZlowiuA

IF you slow the video down at the launch, you can see that the rear diff is obviously not in the car straight. Need to sort that out. Its all adjustable shit. 35 spline axles with spool so its not a limited slip issue. Tires are spinning on the rim but only about 3/8" per run, same movement. I will glue the tires. Beadlocks aren't in the budget this year. #2016problems
