I needed to have this posted in the new and improved homemade turbo haven.
I need to take new pics of the fresh paint. It is a fucking animal at 18 lbs, I may soon up it into the 20s'. It is reliable enough to take out on long rides and to work everyday, but it lately has just been the car I take out once in awhile, turn some heads and then park it. No track times, no ripper vids and no dyno numbers yet. I really just want to make it clean. Reupholster the seats, lay down some new carpet and clean up the engine bay. Other than that, I would like to install a 2 step and swap the rear gears to around a 3.31 ratio.

What does your ass dyno tell ya? It has to be making some big hp. When does that HX50 hit full spool?

I figure it to be in the 500+ range. I really haven't recorded when the turbo starts spooling or when it reaches full spool. I think this turbo will really start breathing after 20 psi.

That is awesome dude. I have a friend down here in Arkansas who turbo'd a 355ci sbc(350 bored either 30 or 40 over) in a chevelle with a tophat on carb setup. Those setups look pretty complicated to tune because of the carb. His was a ghetto ebay build, and that thing moved like hell. He eventually got it to run down to a 9.4 quarter mile...but he was on 12:1 compression at 10 psi and it eventually blew up lol

is that a blow through demon carb or did you mod it your self?
It's the na one. I modded it myself. I added jet extensions, drilled out the pvcrs, added vent tube extensions, removed the power valve blow out protector, and that was about it.I recently made a homemade boost referenced power vavle that I still need to install

I've read that the bg blowthroughs still need to get messed with to get right. I did all the tuning myself.

You should gear that thing down 4.10s are too much for a turbo car, you want something in the low to mid 3's to be able to load the turbo fully before having to shift.

They're really quite easy to do. You can modify almost all holley carbs to work easily.

This is the new paint. Not the exact match as the other color, but I like it. It cost me $1056. There was quite a bit of florida sun rust to fix.

how do you like the flipped block huggers?
do you have any better pics of them.
i was thinking about either using those or just the stock ramhorn manifolds flipped.
They worked out great for me except that I had the tall valve covers. I had to do some massaging with a hammer to the top of the valve covers to fit the headers. If I need to take off the valve covers, I have to remove the headers also. I did chop off the 3 bolt flanges to weld the tubing to the turbo and then used the chopped off flanges further down closer to the turbo. The headers were cheap ebay ones and they had 1 5/8 primaries. You might be able to fit the headers with regular short valve covers.

yeah i'm planning on using stock valve covers.
how high did the flanges sit compared to the carb before you cut the flange off?
The flanges were lower than the carb, but if your thinking of mounting the turbo on the flanges, you will have to cut a hole in your hood.
