i messaged ectune on facebook.  he asked my name and email and sent me a license within a few minutes.

It didn't work because i replaced my laptop, so i had to send him the id out of ectune on the new laptop and he sent me a new license again.
Didn't take long at all.

You install a PCMCIA device, another HD, etc?

That makes no sense.

Ah right, the original they.

Because original they no longer owns it.  Whether that is a logistical impediment, or a convenient excuse to wash their hands of the thankless task, IDK.

It's 5+ years abandonware supporting 20-30 year old vehicles that have been driven into the wall by old age, and least common denominator owners.  It's okay to move on and blow up newer junk.
