December 6th, pulled the front end off to swap over painted hood, bumber and fenders. Ghetto, but on its way.

Then after dinner I went back in and installed the pre-painted hood, fenders and bumper.

Some of the stuff I already had, some I took off of the reddevil, but IF I had to replace it, this is what I would probably pay.

NA block, $150?
Mahle pistons $450 (although I only paid $28 via a raffle!!!!!)
STI rods and crank $150
Bearings $100
FMIC kit came with stainless piping, couplers and BOV $225
Clutch kit $200
Ebay turbo $<200
Oil feed line $35
550cc injectors (free, modded my stock NA ones)
twin turbo heads $250-400
intake manifold (NA) $50
down pipe back Exhaust $150
Up and down pipe $20 materials
Heat wrap $40
Modded MAF $80 (free to me, I am the one that sells them )
Air filter $50
Greddy Trust MBC $50 (used off ebay)
Gauges $50 (Boost and AFR narrowband)
Misc $150
Perfect Power 6 piggy back $250
Borla Header $250

So at least $3000....

Damn, I DO NOT LIKE adding this shit up!

And Finally....

13.9 @ 102, BAAADDD slipping clutch.

Then the next day I did a dynopull to see some #'s....  20 miles later 2nd gear lost all its teeth.

So currently, as of May 5th, the wagon is sitting awaiting a built tranny.....

Your shit is always good :noel:.
Why are you always using open deck blocks?
What gear box are you using? The wrx 5 speed boxs are weak as fuck, we wound the teeth off a brand new 3rd gear when we were street tuning, we have had the box out 7 times to replace gears.

Sorry, no extra centers currently.

I am sticking with the open deck for the daily, up to 400whp and these are generally pretty good.

The tranny is being rebuilt with 2007 Forester gear set, "much" bigger than any of the other gearsets for any year (excepting the STI 6speed).

Yer I think the last 5th gear we installed was a late model forester, not shore if it was +07 tho, its a great circuit ratio because its so dam close to 4th. How often do you go to the strip? you killed any cv's or shafts?

Well,  WAAAAAIIITTTTTTIIIINNNNGGGG for the tranny parts.  And after i get the tranny parts, I may need more as I need to see if the NEW works with the OLD.

Also have some head issues.  Busted of a cam cap bolt with the stupidest move ever which I will not discuss as it was just plain stupid.....   So if I am unable to fix this head, these are going on... :)

1997 EJ20R heads from the "hot" Legacy twin turbo that I bent all the valves on.  I sent them up to Delta Cam and had them do 1mm oversize valves in just one side crisscross style.  You know, for bling.

Well, gave up (for now) getting the newer gears working in the older tranny.

So I swapped in the tranny from reddevil last week, and installed the motor last night!

the dailydevil lives again!

Had a major issue though last night....  Damn plug came out of the alternator and I DIED on the side of the fucking road.  Had no clue what happed (its 10pm) but lucked out and pressed the plug back in.  So then I rolled down the road BACKWARDS and bump started it in reverse!

No more issues, fingers crossed!

Did some gas eating driving today.  But it is running fairly well @ 17 psi, about 320whp probably.  NEED to get a dyno tune soon.

Did some work since the last post.....

Replaced the fuel pump.
replaced the pressure plate with one that HOLDS.
Road tuned it yesterday.

Going out to PIR on Friday, should be in the high 12's.

Took my 1990 FAMILY fulled loaded Legacy wagon to PIR tonight.  Having some issues with bog/misfire starting at about 4500 rpm in 3rd, all through 4th, suspect plug gap....

But.....

The dailydevil, all 3400 estimated lbs of it, went pretty quick. My best trap was 104.8 mph @ 13.6.

Best overall

60' 1.895
1/8 8.552
mph 83.03
1/4 13.365
mph 102.99

Gapped the plugs down to .028.

WAY NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!

Definately gonna get a high 12.XX come the next time out!  It was soooo boggy.  Now it is (usually) clean pull all the way to redline.

Drove to the coast and back this weekend. Put about 300 miles on the wagon and if I keep my foot out of it, about 25 mpg. Foot in lowers it to 20 or less.
